Sometimes friends blow..and not in a good way

So basically Rachel pulled out of the wedding because she has "money issues." All of the sudden, now that it's time for her to pay TWENTY-SIX (yes $26) dollars on her dress, every bill she has ever had in her life comes due. Because she hasn't had time to pay off her bills since I got engaged in SEPTEMBER!! Because she hasn't had FOUR MONTHS to get 26 dollars together. I told her the only thing she needs to pay for is her and dress, not ONE other thing (including the shower & bachlorette party, which she is supposed to help with since she is the MOH.) And she bitched because you know she is like 5 minutes pregnant and has to watch out for her family. Don't give me that shit. You've been trying to get knocked up since JULY! This wasn't a suprise. I know that my wedding isn't the most important thing in everyone's life, but she told me all of this via EMAIL and at the end of it, instead of just SAYING "hey, I dont/cant want to be in the wedding" she says "Let me know what you think cause I don't NOT want to be in the wedding but I have to look out for my family." That was Thursday (or Friday?) And I haven't talked to her since then. Talk isn't really the word, emailed, is more like it. Hopefully she gets the message. It's such a douche-move. Seriously. Just dumb and hurtful. Angel and I have cake tastings at Taylor's Bakery and Icing on the Cake on Saturday and hopefully they can squeeze us in at Heavenly Sweets as well. We'll see how that goes. Oh and Evan's dad & Z decided to make other plans the weekend they were supposed to meet my parents so isn't that nice. Then, since we have plans on the 4th and the next weekend is Mothers Day, he has the audacity to say "I didn't know meeting them was going to be this hard" (!!!!!!!!!!!!) Can you believe that shit? He made OTHER plans w/Z's grandkids instead of meeting my parents and doing something for HIS son...WTF?! He's defn. PWed. Im still pissy about that.

So today I have 3 exams and in my MOA class w/the same teacher who assigned 14 competencies the last 2 weeks of class last quarter, she apparently assigned homework that is due TODAY but she only did it in her head and not to the class so I don't have it and we have an exam over it today. So thats rad. So instead of running right to school and getting the homework, I went tanning. ANd I look GOOOOOD. I know tanning is like asking for cancer, but dammit I look really good tanning and people notice, not to mention that the farmers tan that I usually sport all summer long isn't gonna work w/a wedding dress that is strapless and has a low back. And it's my time to RELAX..since work is getting so petty. Seriously, these women are all older then me (minus Lanay) and they are PETTY. But more on that later if I feel like it. I have that "tanning bed" smell and need to shower before I head to class to finish my pharmacology homework. Oh and in like 2 weeks, the CARDINALS have opening day!!!

So it's Wednesday...

And this week has already been crazazy. Let me tell the story..
I hadn't heard from my MOH in about 20 million years. No returning the phone calls, emails, texts and I was FREAKING OUT!!! So I called Lindsey and we discussed what to do. Also, on Friday I received an email from Rachel about dresses and how we needed to talk ASAP. Well I kind of figured where that conversation was going. So we talked on Tuesday and...guess what...She's PREGNANT! Basically I've known this was gonna happen since last July, Im just surprised it took so long. She will be 7mos at the time of the wedding which means we have to figure out how to make her dress fit or get her a a different size/style. Ahh it should be really good times. So thats the biggest news this week. And I FINALLY talked to Angel and she made plans with me to do like all day wedding stuff in 2 weeks and then the week after that we will be going to the bridal show. So it sounds like she is back on board with all the wedding stuff. Hopefully the girls get their dresses paid off ASAP..Okay, thats all for now..

So sad...

glitter-graphics.com

So vacation (the beach part) is officially over. I am sitting in bed in the Econolodge in Sweetwater, TN to type my "vacation blog." I was going to do one every night but the internet conked out the day after I wrote my first entry. Nice. Anyway, it was a fantastic week and here are the highlights.
1. I got a killer tan (that at first was a killer sunburn, I itch all over, let the peeling begin)
2. I got to see dolphins. The gulf coast is known for being able to see dolphins up close, but I never have, never more then w/the binoculars off the balcony. This time (it was Wednesday) I was laying out on the beach and I saw dorsal fins ( and immdietly thought SHARK) but then 8-10 of them jumped out of the water! It was amazing and of course, the one day I didn't have my camera with me. They couldn't have been more then 20 feet away, just off the sandbar (which i was then standing on.) It was so cool! And they are bigger in real life then they are (or seem?) at the zoo. Very neat.
3. I found actual sand dollars on the actual beach. Usually, if you want sand dollars you head to Souvenir City and buy them. Since the hurricane, the beach has been dredged to make new beach and it there were TONS of shells everywhere. Before Ivan (in 2004) and Katrina & Rita (in 2005) you'd be hard pressed to find ANY shells. The beaches were white, soft, and no shells. This year, there were shells everywhere. It was pretty different.
4. I saw my first portuguse man o' war. They are weird! I've read about them but thought their natural habitat was near Australia and New Zealand. Apparently, they've always appeared along the gulf coast (mostly neart northwest Florida). They are big, blue & purple & pink and apparently deadly in some cases. At first I thought they were sea cucumbers, then condoms..lol..oops. They were massive and everywhere. Then on Thursday and Friday little Blue Button jellyfish started appearing, also odd. I will post pictures asap.
5. We got the majority of the save the dates finished and mailed. It took FOREVER because the printer that we brought along didn't want to cooperate. But they are beautiful and Im excited! (and if you'll notice, less then 6 mos. til the wedding!!)
6. The biggest news I guess is that Evan and I have decided that by June 2011, Gulf Shores/Foley/Loxley/Robertsdale/Bay Minnette will be our home!!!!! We are moving south as soon as he has 2 years on the police department..hopefully he can do a lateral transfer and not have to go through the academy again...I've always wanted to live in LA (lower Alabama) since we started going when I was 7 (can you believe that? I've been going for 18 years!) and I never thought it'd be possible. Evan and I talked about how we both want to live near the ocean on our first date, but I didn't think he was serious. So when we got to the condo, it was just like, click, I need to be here. I want to raise my babies and grow old by the ocean. And Evan, readily agreed. He says he wants to get some time on the police department so even if he does have to go through the process again, at least he'll have some experience. I love that man so much! He is amazing and we are planning a trip south (he's never been to LA or Florida!!! What!? His entire beach career is Myrtle Beach) I told him, don't base your beach experience on that, the Gulf is SOOOO much better (sorry to all you MB lovers, but the Gulf far outweighs the Atlantic). Hopefully we can get down for 4 days or so in June (my next school break) but if not, we will most likely be honeymooning there. I know, I know, not exotic like Aruba or Jamaica, but I want him to see why I love it so much. And he should see it before we move there..duh. So hopefully in about 3 years my southern girl on the inside will be living the southern life on the outside (FYI, for those that are wondering, we won't be living directly on the beach, the hurricane insurance alone would be through the roof) but we will be within an hour of the ocean.
7. Being at the ocean, made me rethink my wedding decisions. There is a beautiful pavillion that would be a great place for a beach wedding. Ughhh. But my dress isn't exactly "beachy" and there's no way Im getting another one, plus, we've done so much other stuff, but still maybe we can renew our vows on the beach in 10 years.
8. I realized that once we move to the south, there's really no reason for me to go back to Indiana. Evan either. After my grandma passes away (not soon I hope!!) and my parents build their house in TN (which we are going to see tomorrow, yay!!) the rest of my family really won't care what Im doing or where Im at. Seriously. I don't think they'd even miss me. Evan's mom is a little different (and I was thinking about buying a house big enough for her to live with us, is that too much?) but that is really the only family member (besides his sister) who I think he'd miss. He's not super close with his dad and the rest of the family is like mine. They get together at holidays or funerals or weddings and thats about it. It's sad, but thats the way it is. My parents would be about 6 hours away so thats fine.
9. I looke like a meerkat or a raccoon. My sunglasses are the big (not super huge movie star kind) but the in style kind and now I have really cool white circles around my eyes whereas the rest of my face is sunburned and pink. It's a cool look. Im sure Ev will think Im SUPER sexy.
10. It was a fantastic week. Only one day of rain (today, and seriously, to a "northerner" it looked like a hurricane)it was a torrential downpour. Too much sun (can there be?)a great beach, a fantastic church, all and all, exactly what I needed as I go back to PS (can't wait to hear how "wonderful" my kids did w/o me, and see my moo-moo) and school (suck my...). I cannot wait to go back.

PS: Seriously, my parents need to consider some type of surgical procedure for their snoring issues. I can BARELY hear the tv over my mom, she is, I can't even tell you how EXASPERATING/ANNOYING her snoring is. It's like a jackhammer/buzzsaw. Ugh, Im never gonna get to sleep, seriously. I took a phenegran (which is for my nausea) because it knocks me out, usually, notice how Im still typing. GOOD GRIEF!!!
