We haven't been to the doctor for her "official" 9 month appointment..We do that Tuesday, so I'll update her stats then..But since she's been sick for the last 2 weeks..I know what she weighs & her height..and since I'm her momma, her likes & dislikes.
Height: 30 inches (she fits in just about none of her 9 mo. clothes, barely her 12 month clothes, at least not in the leg/feet area)
Weight: 21lbs/1oz. (she's tall & lean, a good combo)
She still has a TON of hair that started jet black at birth, turned red in months 4-7, and is now a sandy blonde/brown, which I think is my natural hair color (I don't know since I haven't seen it since I was 12).
LIKES
Sitting up on her own (finally!!), being outside, swinging, FOOD (baby: yogurt, apricots, turkey, sweet potatoes, applesauce, mixed fruit, mac & cheese) & (adult: biscuits, gravy, toast, apple butter, french fries, bread, ice cream, and yes, she only gets very, very small bites of these things.), blowing raspberries, talking (she says dada, Aiyee (Allie), baba, hi, hey, ruff (barking at Allie), and most recently, mama (yessss!!), she loves to explore, she isn't much into to crawling (but I never crawled either), she really loves to stand while we hold her hands, the tv/dvd remote, my cell phone, the house phone, the dogs ears, her big sis Maci, her grandpa, her daddy, car rides, shopping, people watching, baths, sleeping in mommy & daddy's bed, entertaining everyone around her, "helping" w/laundry/dishes, The Crocodile Hunter (she growls when Steve comes on), Sesame Street (she hearts El.mo) (and no she doesn't just sit in front of the tv, it's just on while I'm doing things around the house, and I'm in & out talking to her, but when she notices these 2 things are on, she loves them)
DISLIKES
Going to the doctor, mommy leaving the room even for a SECOND (yep, we're in the clingy stage), diaper changes (because she must stay still), having Kleenex anywhere NEAR her face, wiping up after meals (she'd rather stay a mess), getting dressed (she loves to be naked as a jaybird), naps (ugh, this is has been so hard to deal with), going to bed (again, hard to deal with), meals being even 1 second late, her crib, being told "no" or "stop please", us trying to make her crawl, not giving into her every whim, being sick (who likes being sick?),
taking her reflux medicine (taking any medicine actually), being overtired.
All in all, we are very lucky. She is a very happy baby, except for the last few weeks since she has been sick. Her being sick just worries me so much and the fact that we keep sharing whatever it is, makes it even worse. We've both been on 2 rounds of antibiotics, so I guess if she's still sick on Tuesday, we'll see what Dr. S suggests next. When he saw her last (on Thursday) he said she is like a super baby. You could never tell she's premature. She advanced physically and cognitively is doing very well. She still doesn't have any teeth, but she loves to gum finger food to death. He also said that the reason for her recurrent sinus infections is that she might finally be getting those teeth and this may just be the way this affects her. Regardless, her coughing/hacking is scaring her mommy. Ugh. But anyway, I am so, so happy to have her in my life. I don't really remember life before her (except maybe that there was more sleep involved), but I'd give up every lost hour of sleep to have her in my life. I am the luckiest momma alive. She is our miracle. Our joy, the light of our life. And the past 9 months have sped by..I can't believe in 90 days, she'll be one. That is crazy to me...Elaina Lynn, we love you much..Happy 9 months!!!
